Hawke's Bay Herald. SATURDAY, MAY 11, 1861.

Our report, or, more correctly speaking, summary of Council proceedings, absorbs the greater part of our space this morning. Members have sat for five consecutive days, and again assemble this forenoon. A considerable amount of business has been done — several bills being far advanced and the greater part of the estimates discussed. Three or four sittings will probably be found sufficient for the business of the session. The Government had the estimates ready the first day, and has shewn itself " all there " in providing work for the Council, which, on the other hand, has shewn every disposition to get through it.
