County cricket matches resulted as follow: Surrey v. Lancashire.—Surrey in the first innings made 321 runs (Sandham 80, Holmes 104) and in the second innings declared with six wickets down for 225. Lancashire made 307 in the first innings (Hopwood 89) and lost two wickets for 240 in the second innings (Washbrook SO). Lancashire won by eight wickets. Kent v. Middlesex. —Kent made 245 in the first innings and lost eight wickets for 15S in the second and.declared. Middlesex in the first innings made 183 (Freeman five for 10S) and in the second innings made 215 (Freeman six for 11S). Kent won by five runs.

Worcester v. Northants. —Worcester made 93 in the first innings (Perkins six for 54) and 307 in the second innings (Martin 101). Northants made 171 in the first innings (Warne six for 51) and 199 in the second innings (Bakewell 141). Worcester won by 30 runs. Hampshire v. Glamorgan.—Hampshire in the first innings, made .156 .(Clay seven for 54), and in the second 341 (Hosie 136). Glamorgan made IS7 in the first innings (Creese seven for 55) and lost nine wickets for 242 in the second innings. Glamorgan won on the first innings. Sussex v. Warwick—Sussex made 330 in the -first innings—(John Parks 150) and made 62 for the loss of two wickets in the second inpings. Warwick made 177 in the first innings (John Parks five for 40) and followed on for 212 in the second innings (Wensley five for 89). Sussex won by eight wickets.

Yorkshire v. Notts. —Yorkshire made 268 in the first innings (Larwood four for 71) and lost one wdeket for 20 in the second innings. Notts in the first innings made 402 (Staples 125 not out). Notts won on the first innings.

Somerset v. Essex.—Somerset made 173. in the first innings (Nichols five for 46) and declared with, five wickets down for 240 in the second innings (Wellard 83). Essex in the first innings. made. 153 (Nichols 71- 'Andrews five for.. 40) and in the second innings made 110 (Andrews four for 31). Somerset won by 150 runs. Gloucester v. Derby.—Gloucester in the first innings made 234. (Dae re 59, Hammond 81; Copson four for 44) and in the second innings made 171 (Cop-son-five for 31). Derby made 325 in the first innings (Alderman 74) and SI for no wickeds in the second innings. Derby won by ten wickets. Army v. Navy. —Army -made-378 in the first innings (Bryan 94). Navy in the first innings made 68 and followed on to make 234 in the second innings. Army won by an innings and 76 runs.
