DRY MONTH AT DUNEDIN

LONG PERIOD OF SUNSHINE. (By Telegraph—Press' Association'.) DUNEDTN, July 23. Some idea of the quality of (ho weather this winter at Dunedin is given by the fact-that the rainfall-from May 1 to July 23 amounts to only 7.10 inches, while the total sunshine for the same period is 29S hours 22 minutes. Rainfall for the present month to date totals .26 inch, compared with 1.92 inches for the same period in July last year. The heaviest rainfall this month was-:10 inch on July 7. Practically no rain has fallen since July 11, and sunshine has been recorded every day with the. exception of July 7. Today the amount of sunshine recorded was 8 hours .20 minutes. The total sunshine front July 1 till to-day is 84 hours 43 minutes. The past few days have been, notable for heavy frosts, low morning temperatures and blue sky.
