THE ALL BLACKS.
The selection of the personnel of the 1935 All Black team brings to an end the first phase of interest in the forthcoming tour.. For many weeks the thoughts of Rugby followers have been centred in the probabilities of the selectors’ choice. There will be many disappointments, but the task is done and the next thing is to get on with the game. The selectors’ decision, like a referee’s or an umpire’s, is final and, though onlookers may reserve the right to their own opinion, good sportsmanship demands that that decision be accepted with good grace. Till now parochialism and supporters’ individual fancies for individual players have very largely dominated Rugby opinion. But now that the selection has been completed, the team becomes a national side and New Zealanders will be as one man in wishing its members a happy and successful tour of the United Kingdom.
