SURPRISE INCLUSIONS NO TARANAKI PLAYERS TEAM FOR BRITISH TOUR GILBERT AS FULLBACK On Saturday night, after deliberations had lasted from 4.30 till 11.30, the New Zealand selectors, Messrs E. McKenzie (Wairarapa), Y. R. Meredith (Auckland), A. A. Adams (West Coast) and W. Pearson (Otago) announced the names of the 29 selected to comprise the All Black team to tour Great Britain. It- comprises 13 backs and 16 forwards.

Seven of Iho team are from Auckland and six from Wellington, while Canterbury and Hawke’s Bay have three each. West Coast and Otago each contribute two players, and there will be one All Black each from South Canterbury, Southland, Marlborough, Manawatu, Bush districts and Waikato. Taranaki, Wanganui and Wairarapa are not represented in the team. The players arc as follow, those marked with an asterisk wearing the All Black jersey for the first time: — Full-back: *G.
