HAWERA ODDFELLOWS MEET PRESENTATION TO MEMBERS • w ' * ty The presentation of a veteran’s jewel, which is unique in the history of Oddfellowship in Hawera, was made by Loyal Huia Lodge on Thursday evening to Bro. A. .T. Cooper, P.G., on the completion of 2d years’ service as an active member of 1.0.0. P. (N.Z.). Bro. P. H. Trim, P.D.D.G.M., in making the presentation, referred to Bro. Cooper’s long years of splendid service to Oddfellowship in New. Zealand, commencing in Dunedin and continued in Wanganui and, for the past 10 years, in Hawera. During the evening the opportunity also was taken to present Bro. JjPo. Franklyn with a fireside chair on the eve of his approaching marriage. Bros. 11. Breed, P.G., C. R. Switzer, D.D.G.M., lan Cowie, P.G., and L. Newell also spoke in appreciation. The visiting brethren were entertained with community singing, competitions and games and a very happy evening was enjoyed by all present. i Bro, j. ”, Philip, N.G., presided. |
