BRITISH ROPE MANUFACTURE

STATEMENT AT AUCKLAND MEETING. “APPARENTLY" MISUNDERSTOOD.” (By Telegraph—rress Association.) WELLINGTON, To-day. The New Zealand representative for British Ropes Limited has received a cable from his principals, denying certain statements made at a meeting of the Auckland Harbour Board on. May 21. The cable says that the position has apparently been misunderstood. British Ropes Limited are not to be confused with the Federation of British Wire Rope Manufacturers, which consists of 20 independent manufacturers, British Ropes Limited being only one.

The (*able adds that the company is in no way controlled by the federation, which is entirely responsible for prices and selling conditions.
