The Safest Car Yoii Caii Buif /\ m ONE-PIECE WELDED ALL-STEEL BODY The Ford electrically welded all-steel body, with steel floor, is the strongest, safest type of body construction known. Roof battens are also of steel and butt welded to the rest of the body. WELDED ONE-PIECE STEEL SPOKE WHEELS The Ford steel spoke wheel is electrically welded into one piece of steel where others may be made from fifty or more loose parts. Air balloon tyres with a 6-inch road tread are further factors of stability and safety. DOUBLE CHANNEL X-BRACED FRAME X members are continued the full length of the frame channels, thus doubly reinforcing the frame sides and forming a box construction. The centre of the frame, which supports passenger weight, is further strengthened by a welded cross member. TORQUE TUBE AND RADIUS ROD DRIVE u By an improved suspension of time-proved transverse springs, the springbase has been greatly increased. Radius rods and torque tube take all driving and braking stresses and maintain axles in perfect alignment. SAFE FRONT AXLE Transverse springs, proved in 30 years of service, are the only springs being installed on any car that give free action on all four wheels with the added safety of a rigid front axle. OVERSIZE BRAKES New brake design employs self-centering shoes. Total brake area, 186 square inches—6.B square inches for every 100 lbs. of car weight. Ail brakes controlled by positive steel rods.
