Mangatoki House Party
Under the capable management oi Air and Mrs L. R. Pease, a very pleasant function which took the form of a surprise party was tendered Aliss Phyllis Parker at her father’s residence on Tuesday evening. The time passed merrily in games, competitions, community singing and dancing. The winners of competitions were Mrs R. D. Douglass and Aliss Al. Pease and All* B. H. Parker and Airs C. A. PeaseAfter supper and in the of the president of the Alaugatoki Tennis Club, the vice-president, Air Hugh Lainbie, in making a small presentation to Aliss Parker on behalf of members and friends of the tennis club, eulogised the good work Aliss Parker 1 hail done in fulfilling her duties as club captain so well, and in all matters connected with the club. Her help had been greatly appreciated and especially by those officers whose duty it was to arrange inter-club matches. All regretted Aliss Parker’s departure from the district, but each and cveiy one wished her every success and' happiness in her new homo to which she would shortly be going. Alusical honours were accorded the guest of honour and Aliss Parker replied; A very pleasant evening was brought to a. with the singing of “Auld Lang Svue ” Among those present were Airs Lambic, sen., Ah* and Airs R. D. Doug- 1 lass, Air and Airs A. E. Alalion, Mrs Lewis. Air and Airs C. A. Pease. Air and Airs L. R. Pease, Air and Airs H. Lambic, Ah* and Airs C. C. J. Astbury, Air and Airs H. Linn, Airs J. Larnbie and the Alisses P. Parker, M. Pease, N. Astbury, N. Davies, D. E. and N. Gatenby and J. Taylor.
