TENNIS AT HAWERA
ISTRAIIFORD DEFEATS PARK
WEEK-END MATCH PLAYED.
During the week-end a team from the Park (Hawera) Tennis Club travelled to Stanford, and in a "friendly” niter-club game lost 21 sets (193 games) to three sets (100 games). The visitors were somewhat Handicapped by the fact that the match was played on hard courts. Many close games resulted, however, and the visit, was much, enjoyed. Ladies’ singles.—Mrs Hodder lost to Miss Best, I—7; Mrs* Dymond lost to Mrs* Sybe, 2—7; Miss Dymond lost Miss Furrie, 2 —7; Mrs Bell lost to Miss Walker, 4—7; Miss* J- Wytkin lost to Mrs Ennis, 2 — -7 ; Miss* F. PARK CLUB TEAM. The Park Club team to play Okaiawa A at the Park on Wednesday will he picked from the following: Men, Snowsill, Hodder, Bamford, Johnston, Lay, Trask and Jones*; ladies, Airs Hodder, Mrs Dymond, Misses Dymond and Wytkin, Mrs Jones and Miss Wolner. Play will commence at 1.15.
