March 11, Eighteen thousand people were _invited to a garden party to Prince George in the zoological gardens _ Fifty thousand attended. The Prince’s car was overwhelmed by enthusiastic crowds till police reinforcements rescued it. . , , ' The Prince was impressed bv the unprecedented good feeling. The Rand o-old mines have given all employees a day’s holiday, thereby sacrificing revenue amounting to £2-50.000.
