TRAGEDY AT GRAVEL PIT. (By Telpgrapli—Crpss Association.! WHAKATANE, Sept. 25. A labourer, E. Jarrett, was killed this morning, in a Poroporo gravel pit. He was running beside a loaded lorry when he slipped and fell, a wheel of the lorry passing over him and crushing his head. Death was instantaneous. He leaves a wife and ten children.
