TRIBUTE TO LORD JELLICOE
NEW ZEALAND REMEMBRANCE
(F.y Telegraph--Press Association!. WELLINGTON, Sent. 23. A glowing tribute to Lord Jellieoe was paid by the Prime Minister, Mr. G W. Forbes, when speaking at the luncheon given yesterday in honour of the visit of the Australian warships Canberra and Australia. Mr. Forbes said that when in England recently he had the honour of again meeting Lord Jellieoe, who next t-o His Majesty the King was the most popular man in Britain. It did not take him long to discover that the famous admiral still had a very warm spot in his heart for New Zealand. In the course of his remarks, RearAdmiral R, C. Dalglish, commanding His Majesty’s Australian. Squadron, said that when writing to his old friend Lord Jellieoe he would tell him that he was still remembered, loved and revered by the people of New Zealand.
