Board’s Amended Proposals SENT TO LONDON IMPORTERS Results Of Small Majority Decision FIRST PUBLICATION OF DETAILS. The ‘‘Hawera Star’s” exclusive 1 news on Saturday regarding the acceptance by the Dairy Board by seven votes to five of the London dairy produce importers’ proposals, subject to certain amendments, has been further confirmed over the week-end. The Board on Friday received the endorsement of the plan by the wards’ conference with certain amendments in respect of four clauses. These have been published elsewhere as being the final draft of the Board’s amended proposals, but the plan as forwarded bv the Board to London for confirmation includes other amendments and two additional clauses. . The final draft is understood to tie as follows: AMENDED PROPOSALS. (1) The export of all butter and cheese from New Zealand to be undea license granted bv the Dairy Produce Board to importers approved by the hoard. The license shall provide that the licensee shall not buy on his own account New Zealand produce, either in New Zealand, afloat or elsewhere. The board to provide machinery for sale or transfer from one importer to another when the board’s London manager is satisfied such importer is short of New Zealand produce either for pat or general trade, and that other than such sales, it is condition of such license that the holder shall undertake to confine his activities in New Zealand dairy produce to first sales; only. Dairy companies or proprietaries to be free to make f.o.b. or c.i.f. sales ou their own account, a regulation to be established by the hoard to provide that no f.o.b. or c.i.f. sales shall be made below London current prices at the time the sale is made.
(2) Butter and cheese to he allotted by the Nllew Zealand boalrd fen cooperation with factories, the board to have the. final decision in the allocation but importers, in the event of any change, to have the opportunity of dis cussing this matter with the hoard b*- • fore such allocation is completed; no canvassing to he allowed as from a date agreed upon between the hoard and the association.
(3) Accounts to he subject to verification as and when required by the board’s accountant; if any importer desires independent verififaaijion, the board to be willing to grant it, hut it will be at the importers’ expense. ('ll No importers holding license to sell New Zealand dairy produce “short.”
(o) No sale of butter and cheese on consignment after the date of the bill •of lading to be made until official notification of commencement of discharge.
(6) Sales through brokers; buyers name to he disclosed and goods invoiced direct. A list of accredited brokers to be made hv the London Importers’ Association in conjunction with the board.
