HUNT RACE PREPARATIONS

(By “Limited.’.’) The acceptances for the Taranaki Hunt Club’s annual meeting to be held at New Plymouth on Saturday next are up to expectations and wit'll favourable weather a good day’s sport can confidently be looked forward to. All the Hawera-tirained horses have accepted and, including the two-year-old, who is to attend for the juvenile parade, thirteen horses from this centre will take part. Training operations on Saturday were carried out under perfect weather conditions and the plough track, in excellent order, was used for the fast work. -March Alone lias shown steady improvement during the week and ridden bv Duncan galloped well with Little Doubt (Vaughan) over six furlongs, the pair finishing together in 1.20, after occupying 53seo for the first half mile. Round table sprinted three furlongs on the grass in 39sec, a good effort. Don Erna strode out we* 1 ! in his pace work over a coimle of rounds. Carfex, who has done a lot of pace work, did light exercise work. No Douibt sprinted two furlongs down the back in 2-ssee-Weatlierza.no and Haunui galloped six furlongs in 1.23. In a well regulated gallop the time could have been improved on. The Tiger worked well over a couple of rounds and is in great order.
