JAPANESE TRAINING SHIP
VISIT BY SCHOOLBOYS. (By Telegraph —Press Association.) AUCKLAND, Aug. 28. Hundreds of Auckland schoolboys invaded the Japanese training ship Shintoku Marti when she was thrown open for their inspection this morning. They took charge of the ship and their hosts did everything possible to show them all there was to be seen. Many of the boys appeared more interested in improving their collection of matchbox tops than in learning how the young Japanese is taught in the ways of the sea. Exhibitions of Kendo, or Japanese ■fencing,, and Judo, or Juditsu, given on the" wharf, were loudly applauded. The ship will be open to schoolgirls on Thursday morning and to adults in the afternoon, and is expected to sail for Kobe, her home port, on Saturday.
