After his holiday voyage to Brazil Sir John Simon, British Foreign Secretary, is due back in London to-mor-row, says a British Official AVireless message. It is expected he will remain in London for a few days and then proceed to Scotland. The Rev. George Lindsay, aged 87, a retired Minister of the Presbyterian Church, died last night at Christchurch. the Press Association reports. .He was minister of St. Paul’s, Invercargill. for 23 years until 1911, in which vear he was Aloderator of the General Assembly. Afterwards Mr Lindsay was at St. Clair for two years and at Southhridge for five years. Air E. A. Cameron, formerly manager of the Orange, (New South Wales) branch of the Bank of Australasia, has been appointed manager of the AVanganui branch in succession to Air A\ T . H. Roihertshaw, who lias been promoted to the AVellington. management of the bank, suocediug Air J. A. AloLeod, who will shortly retire on pension after 43 years’ service. A very enjoyable evening was held at | the residence of Air and Airs J. Timi mins, of Hawera, on Saturday to enteri tain Aliss Beryl Cooper oil the eve of her approaching marriage. All present combined and presented Aliss Cooper witli a nest of aluminium saucepans. Games and competitions were played, interspersed with music. At a meeting of the Taranaki Ayrshire Breeders’ Club at New Plymouth a vote of sympathy wais accorded Air A. C. The death occurred at AA’ellington yesterday of Airs A. C. Greatbartch, Fitzroy, New Plymouth. Mrs Greatbatch 'wa.s the eldest daughter of Air and Airs J. Bell Thomson, New Ply mouth. She leaves a, grown-up family of four daughters —Airs J. N. Stephenson (Opunake), Mrs G. Mace Wellington) Airs E. D. Colson (AVellington; and Aliss C. Greatbatch (New Plymouth). Her only son, Second-Lieut-enant E. P. Grea,tbatoli, was killed in the Great AVar. He was a member of the Eighth Reinforcement. The death has occurred at Alornnsvillo of Mr AVilliam Clement Cargill, managing director of the Cargill Publishing Company, which publishes the “Morrinsville Star,” “Matamata Record” and “Putaruru Press,” saiys a Wellington Press Association message. Air Cargill was formerly proprietor ofthe “AVairarapa Age,” “Pa,tea. Press and “Pukekohe Times.” From 1928 to 1930 he was president of the New Zealand Master‘Printers’ Federation. Air Car"ill, who was in his 63rd year, was interested in many educational and sporting activities.
