George William Clarke, aged 18, who was charged with vagrancy, was stated to have landed at Sydney on the tug Theresa Ward from New Zealand. The police prosecutor, in asking for a remand, said that provision was being made for Clarke’s return. The. youth stowed himself away in the vessel’s pantry.„
