The opinion that the attractions of Rarotonga as a holiday resort were not sufficiently advertised -were expressed by Mr'A. C. Matlicson, formerly manager of the Bank of New Zealand, Dunedin, who returned this week with Mrs Mntheson after spending several weeks at Rarotonga. Mr Matheson said he thought more information should be given regarding the clothing visitors should take, and greater publicity should be given to the advantages' of a holiday in the Cook Islands. Rarotonga was a delightful place for a restful stay, and the expense of a trip there was remarkably low, everything considered. Airs Alatheson said that some visitors engaged furnished houses when they were staying any length of time*. Two young men had paid only 2os a week for a furnished cottage with full board.
