RECEPTION TO MRS AIcCOAEBS-. (By Telegraph—Press Association.' CHRISTCHURCH, Aug. 25. A remarkable reception was accorded' Airs E. AtcCom'bs, Labour candidate for Lyttelton, when she opened her campaign at Lyttelton to-night. There was a prolonged demonstration from the crowded audience when she rose tospeak and at the end of her address there, was cheering and applause for several minutes. She said that if elected she would vote for restoration of educational facilities, and she spoke at. length of the harm done:, especially to the sons and daughters- of working men, by the reduction of expenditure on education. Airs McCombs criticised the Government’s policy for the relief of unemployment and enunciated Labour’s policy" for dealing with the problem. She was accorded a vote of thanks and confidence.
