GOVERNOR UNABLE TO ATTEND.
GALF JUDGING ARRANGEMENTS^
Arrangements for tlie jubilee show to be held in Hawera were further advanced at a meeting of the Egmont A. and P. Association at Hawera yesterday, . when Mr Alex. Hunter presided over an attendance of 14 members. Advice was received that, owing to engagements in the South Island, Lord and Lady Bledisloe will be unable to be present at the association e jubilee show at Hawera in November. In expressing their regret Their Excellencies wished the association every success. , The Wanganui and Taranaki Educations Board" wrote advising that they. would grant schools in their respective districts permission to close on the occasion of People’s Day at the show to enable the pupils to attend. It was decided to hold the calf-iudo-in" competitions final on the third dav" of the show. Arrangements are bein'? made with the combined carters of liobby calves to co-operate in the transport of exhibitors’ calves from the various districts. The following new members were elected: Messrs L. W. Bishop; .J. Dash. C. Haynes, T. O. Hobbs, pmr.. Donald Ross (Hawera), H. J. Hail iKakaramea). E. Johnston (Mokoia), G H.
