The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, reports having held its fifth furred skin saie of the season at Wellington last week. There was. a full bench or buyers and good competition ruled. The firm s offering of 2,200 opossum skins consisted entirely of trappers’ lines, ea.li offered in two parcels, darks and greys, and realised the following :• • ages for the districts enumerated : Taranaki district, 194 skins, os Gc , 24, os lid; 43, os lOd; 121, 5s 7d; 71. os Id; 46, os 3d; 127, 4s 7d. Paliatanui district, 49 skins, 6s 4d; 28, os lid.

Hutt district.—2oo skins, 6s 2d; 24, 5s 6d; 33, 5s 3d. Masterton district.—4l skins, 6s 3d ; 91. 5s lid; 96, os lOd. Akatarawa district.—6s skins. 5s lid: 26. os 10 d ; 37, 6s Id. Wanvanui district.—lo 9 skins, os 8d; 40. 6s lid.
