WELLINGTON GAME DRAWN
(By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Dee. 15. The Town v. Country cricket match ended in a draw to-day. In reply to Country’® total of 435, Town responded with 364. J. Newman, the Nelson lefthander, bowled so ably that five wickets were down for 204, but Dempster then stepped into the breach and played a masterly innings for 207, which included 33 boundary strokes. His was the last wicket to fall.
Newman put up an outstanding! bowling performance, sending down 47 overs, 14 of which were maidens, for five wickets and 86 runs. Freeman, the Nelson colt, took three wickets for 33 off 40 deliveries, his victims including Dempster, whom he clean bowled. The scores are; Country 435
