CONTROL OF SKIING. ;By Telegraph—l'ress Association. ) WELLINGTON, May 23. Recommendations for the control of skiing in New Zealand, together with a draft of the proposed rules of the ski council of the Federated Mountain Clubs of New Zealand, were presented at the first annual meeting of the Federated Mountain Clubs on Saturday. After the report was read it was decided, pending the adoption of a proper constitution for ski control, that the present committee carry on until the end of 1932 or 1933, as the federation thought fit. A. motion was passed suggesting that the New Zealand Ski Council might co-operate with Australia in the publication of a skiers’ year book. It was mentioned that there was a possibility of a team of six expert skiers, representing various States of Australia, coming to New Zealand for ski championships to be held at Tongariro National Park in September next. it was decided to make stall further recommendations to the authorities in the direction of increasing the safeguards oi' those visiting the park, as the recommendations already made had been only partly adopted.
