STRATFORD CLUB

ANNUAL SALE.

An average price of 14 guineas for the GO head sold was realised at the annual bull fair of the Stratford Jersey Cattle Club held at Newton King, Ltd.’.s sales pavilion at Stratford yestordav. The highest price was realised In- the two-year-old Penrose Corporal (in- Kuku* Bony Owler —Penrose Diana), sold bv Clcmow Bros, Stratford, to Evan Jones, 'Toko, for 31 guineas. The next highest price was realised by the yearling Wattle Bank Gold 'Medal (by Kolora’s General— Bemuera Belle), purchased by J. F. Bead, Iluiroa, for 30 guineas from O. MeAloou,. To Wera. The offering totalled 71, made up of 40 yearling bulls, 27 two-year-olds and four of three years and over. The inspection committee of the club had inspected all entries prior to the sale, and as it had power to reject entries not up to the required standard, the quality of the offerings submitted for sale was .assured.

iMr H. J. Kaye, president of the .Stratford Club, said the executive had spared no pains to make the sale one of quality, and he thought those efforts had been successful as the offering was one of the best that had been put up under the auspices of the club. The selling agents were: Newton King, Ltd., the Farmers’ Go-op. and the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency acting in conjunction. .Sales included the following:— On Account of O.
