At Murmansk, after a long hunt, three bandits were summarily executed for committing 25 murders, including that of a colleague, because they feared that lie would betray them. The gang in one day murdered 15 people, including a nine-month-old baby, for the sake of loot equalling £6. On another day they butchered a man, his wife and three children for the sake of 18s.
