ROAD FOR WAIMATE PLAINS.
A number of the new settlers on ti;’ Waimate Plains met together on Wednesday evening last to consider the best way of forming a new road district on the Waimate. It was decided to call a public meeting to discuss the question arid to invite the chairman of th(' county to attend and state the procedure necessary under the local ordinances. The necessity for immediate action was clearly shown by the fact that several of the deferred pavilion* holders are unable to obtain access to their sei-tious until crossings have been rnr.de over creeks which lie between the main road and their land, and which are at present impassable.- “ Unworn and Xormnubv friar,’ ’ December 19.
