SATURDAY’S RESULTS.

The Bay of Plenty Jockey Club’s annual meeting was held to-day. The weather was cool and showery, but there was a record attendance. The course was in the best possible condition. The first special passenger train trom Waihi to Tanranga brought about 703 passengers. The totalizator dealt with £14,112 10s, compared with £10,622 last year. This exceeds any previous amount. Results are : Trial Piate, five furlongs. —4 Lady Cynic 1, 15 Otangihaku 2,2 Roman Abbey 3. Also started: Lady Castlemaine, Winterborne gelding, Flying Foam, Plomai, Oliurai, Terrepin, Foxhound, Pago, Eastbourne, Glad Abbey, Joy Day, Silverline, Jack Jumper. VVon by a nose, with half a length between second and third. Time, 1.3. Maungnnni Handicap, six furlongs.— 3 Talui Tama 1, 4 Desert Knight 2, G Abbey Queen 3. Also started : Palmares, Queen Comet, Segment, Cloudbank. Won by - two lengths, with half a length between second and third. Time, 1.161-5. Tauranga Gup, one mile and a quarter. —7 Karangi 1, 1 Queen Arch 2, 5 The Author 3. Also started: Matinee, Rarakau, Namutere, The Lover. Won by a neck, with a length between second and third. Time, 2:11. Merries Memorial, one mile. —6 Mosque 1, 4 Waifekohe 2,2 Taurimu 3. Also started: Abbey Day, Taurimu, Pekatahi, Restaurant, Cherry Girl, Colville Queen. Won by half a length, with a similar distance between second and third. Time, 1.44 2-5. Greerton Handicap, seven furlongs. —1 Tinakoa and 2 New Moon (dead beat) 1, 3 Miss Egypt 3. Also started: The Author, Lady Castlemninc. Won i>y a length and a half. Time, 1.28. President’s Handicap, six furlongs.— 5 Walt/, er 1 1 Dimmer 2, 4 Orclius 3. Also started: Abbey Day, Gold Clip, Abbey Queen, Palmares, Par Eclipse, Segment, Cherry Girl, Tatunau, Jack Jumper. Won by a nose, with ball a length between second and third. Time, 1.15 4-5. County Stakes, six furlongs.—l Roman Abbey 1, 6 Otangihaku 2, 5 Flying Foam 3. Also started: Homai, Red Day, Pago, Silverline, Lady Cynic, Foxhound, Matinee, M use a ri, Tinakoa. Won by a length, with a quarter of a length between second and third. Time, 1.16.
Flying Handicap, six furlongs.—3 Whaka King 1, Tinakoa" 2, 6 Dimmer 3. Also started: Namutere, Taku Tama, Rarangi, Clarus. Won by half a length, with a length between second and third. Time, 1.14 2-5.
