Army the latter continued batting, and had made 179 for five wickets when the game was abandoned on account of rain. There was a brilliant morning, but after only half an hour’s play, a thunderstorm deluged the ground and the match had to be abandoned. Details of the scores were:— NEW ZEALAND. Page two for 53, Aleott none for 12, Lowry one for 4. Williams played a most attractive innings, which lasted two and a ha'-f hours. Among liis hits were two sixes and six fours.
