PLUNKET SHIELD. AUCKLAND v. WELLINGTON. (BY TELEGRAPH—PRESS ASSOCIATION.) AUCKLAND, Jan. 21. The final match for the Plunket Shield between Wellington and Auckland was commenced at Eden Park today- in brilliant weather. The wicket was in excellent condition, appearing all in favour of the batsmen. When, therefore, Wellington, with its o-reat team of batsmen, was dismissed For 182. the feat carried with it a touch of the sensational. Brice, the Wellington captain, who went in on the fall of the eighth wicket, made a meritorious stand and registered the top score with 61, his partnerships with James and Henderson taking the score from 96 to 182. When stumps were drawn for the day Auckland had lost four wickets for 146, Mills being the top scorer with 63. Details of the scores are: — WELLINGTON. First Innings.
