HEAVY RAIN.

WET WEEK AT TAUHANGA. (.SY Trr.I’.GItAPH PRESS ASSOCIATION 1 TAURANGA, Dec. 28. The weather over Christmas was the worst ever experienced. Rain commenced on Tuesday night of last week and continued almost without intermission till Sunday afternoon, but, fortunately, Christmas Eve was compara lively fine. On Christmas Day there was a continuous downpour and a thunderstorm on Sunday morning was followed by a. fine afternoon. Yesterday was fine till four o’clock, when a heavy thunderstorm brought more rain. To-day was fine but dull for the annual regatta, for which record entries had been received. The ocean yacht, race from Auckland was won by the Wairiki, with Queenie second and the Ngatoa third. The yachts left on Christmas Eve and did not reach here till nightfall on Sunday. They experienced the full force of the easterly gale.
