Mr. H. Spedding, who underwent .an operation at the Hiawera hospital, Anas sufficiently recovered yesterday to be able to return to liis home.
The Hon. G. AI. Thomson, M.L.C., of Otago, who has been on a short visit to his son, Dr. W. At. Thomson, of Hawena, was a passenger for Wellington by to-day's mail train. Mr E. Casey, Nortlr Island divisional superintendent of railways, accompanied bv Mr W. Beasley (district engineer') and Mr P. H. Hart'and (district traffic manager), passed through Hawera last evening on their way to New Plymouth. Nurse V. Peters, of the Cook Hospital, Gisborne, who bus been visiting friends in Hawera, left, for Auckland last, evening.
