QUARTERLY MEETING COUET

The quin-tei-ly meeting' of Court Egmont, A.0.F., was well, filled with'enthusiastic' members on Monday night, when the opportunity was taken torn a ke, a presentation to the retiring secretary, who is leaving for Welling ton to take up a position as sales manager for a firm in that city. The presentation was made by the Past Chief Hanger, who congratulated Bro. Squire on his promotion and wished him every success in his new capacity. Members joined in wishing- . .Bro. Squire every success and hoped to see him pay. a visit to Ilawera as often as possible, at the same time regretting to a secretary and brother rvho had worked so hard for the. Court. Bro. C. Colelough was installed as the new secretary.
During the. evening a new'member was initiated, and a motion discussed and carried to admit lady members to the Court and conduct the Court as a mixed one. Members were very keen on the subject of ladies’ admittance, ■as it is hoped, to make the social side and the ordinary Court business more enjoyable. Apart from interesting meetings the Court’s rules provide for social entertainments, either apart from meetings or after the meetings are over. Members were asked to canvass as many lady members as possible and assure them that they may. share the privileges of the Court and its large finances at a 1 very low premium compared with male members. After a very enjoyable evening, in which several subjects of importance were discussed, the Court joined in wishing the retiring secretary goodbye for the present.
