A neat compliment was paid Mr H. G. Dickie, M.P.,. by a Moeawatea setlter at the Patea .County _ meeting, when he commended Mr Dickie for all he had done for the settlers. He said that he was one of the few men who took a live interest in the backbloeks settlers, and added that so soon as he had been told of their troubles he had got to work and helped materially in securing a grant.
