NOTES BY “LIMIT.” Mr J. Lloyd, late of W. Willetts’, stable, was a visitor to the track last, .Sunday morning, where he rode and drove some very interesting work. With the first- of August past the trotting season of .192(5-27 will soon be

in full swing, while our local trainers will be putting their. horses back into consistent work again in view of the coining Auckland spring meeting in October and Wellington in December. The Hawera horses this season will be of the first order. Taking a look through our local stables we first came across C. Le Campion, who has now a nice string of horses, mostly straight-out. trotters, and judging from appearances, all his horses look in first-class order. 1 lieu wo jogged along to Normanby, to have a look at J. E. Biuith N stable, where wo saw some young stuff which is verv well forward, also some good handicap horses, which suggests that j. E. Smith will not be very long before he gets on the winning list. The next stable we stopped at was !’. Green’s, who Inst season sheltered that good horse Kokiritea, who won the Wanganui Clip and the New Plymouth i Cup. This season ought to see Phil | well up in the game again, as he lias I a nice team to commence the new sea- ! soil with. We had only io walk along I the road when we came across J. Bullock, who is Air J. R. Corigan’s prij vate trainer. His stable is equal to | any in New Zealand, as he has some ; very well-bred horses, and his task next season- to maintain tho name of j trotting, in Taranaki should not be a j hard one. AVe have also had a short ! talk to G. Richards, who told us that i he is likely to go back into the game I a vain in a small way, and we wish him j and all the local trainers success 1 throughout the present season, j Air L. IT. Birkett, the Nelson traini or. is on a business trip to Christchurch. and all his horses have been given a light let-up. Imprint will bo put back into work again in view of the New Zealand Trotting Cup. Doctor Dillon will not make the journey south, where he was freely engaged for the coming meeting. 1 Never before have. .Taranaki owners j had such an opportunity to breed as they have this season, when AYorthy Bingen (a full brother to Great . Bingen), Peter Bingen, Bertha Bingen and" Bessie Bingen will stand in Hawera. Sam Smith will have charge oi. Air Corrigan’s fine horse AYorthy Bingen, j who is not only a beautiful straight-out-trotter, but is probably one of the? ! finest bred- horses in tin 1 world on his j sire’s side, that sire being Nelson 1 Bingen (imp.), our leading living -sire, son of Bingen, one of America’s greatest sires. ' AYorthy Bingen’s d;am. ! Bertha Bell (imp.) , is by _ Peter the I Great. America’s greatest sire. Berth:: Bell has- proved herself to be the An os t valuable producing brood mare in New ’ j’ Zealand to-day.- Her .last three eolt 1 foals have been sold 1 for 000 guineas ’ j before -weaning.

i Holly Boy is a much improved horse i since going into Tomkinson ’s s-tabie. ! whore lie has boon kept lin'd at work, j P. Riddle lias Sheik lopkhtg in. firs!i class order. Sheik is now on a tight j mark, where- he will require to be at his best before success will come his i wav. i Rea Boar! will carry a lot of suppon i from northerners in her engagements ' at Addington this week.
