PRODUCTION FIGURES
DECREASE OF 5.6 PER- CENT FROM PREVIOUS SEASON.
The figures of the dairy division of the Departpient of Agriculture show that the salted butter graded for July, 1926, was 344 tons, and the unsalted nil, a total of 344 tons, compared with 345 tons salted and 10 tons unsalted, a total of 355 tons, for July of last year—a decrease of 3 per cent. For the twelve months ended July, 1926, the respective quantities were 59,739 tons and 2SIB tons, a total of 62,557, tons, compared with 65,634 tons and*. 4582 tons, a total of 70,216 tons, for the corresponding period of the preceding season, a decrease of 10.9 per cent. The cheese graded for July, 1926, comprised: White 145 tons, coloured 171 tons, a total of 316 tons, compared with 78 tons white and 106 tons coloured, a. total of 184 tons for July, 1925—an increase of 71.7 per cent. The quantities for the twelve months ended jTuly, 1926, were : White 47,174 tons, coloured 26,971 tons, a total of 74,145 tons, compared with 45,990 tons white and 24,003 tons coloured, a total of 69,993 tons, for the corresponding period of the preceding season, an increase of 5.9 per cent. Converting these figures into butterfat equivalent, there is a decrease of 5.6 pier cent, in butter-fat production for the twelve months as compared with the corresponding period ,of the 192-4-25 season. Stocks held 'at the various grading ports as at. July 31, 1926, were: Butter 2489 tons, cheese 1883 tons, as compared with 1206 tons butter and 284 tons cheese held on July 31, 1925.
