STRATFORD BEATS ELTHAM
SOUTHERN DIVISION.
OKAIAWA AND KAPONGA SCRAPE HOME The opening of the second round in the Taranaki Rugby Union’s senior competition on Saturday was productive of the closest and most exciting football of the season. The leadin 0- two- teams in the Southern Division—-Okaiawa and Kaponga—staved off defeat by Patea and Athletic respectively by only one point in /each case, while, in the North, Eltham went under to Stratford by a similar margin. The remaining three matches were won by comfortable margins, and alterations on the premiership ladder are few, the positions now appearing as follow:
