The Pan-Pacific Union has appointed committees for a Polynesian research conference here in 1928 in connection with the Captain Cook sesquicentennial ceremonies. Lady Houston, whom four specialists recently examined and declared mentally and physically fit, petitioned the Jersey Court to annal an appointment of curator of her late husband’s large estate, pointing out that the specialists’ report showed her ill-health to have culminated in .an attack ol jaundice, accompanied by mental confusion, .which disappeared when the jaundice was cured. The court adjourned the application to enable the principal residents of the Island 1 to hear the medical evidence, in accordance with Channel Island law. Lady Houston, on hearing the decision, collapsed, declaring it unfair and alleging conspiracy against her.
