ASSEMBLIES. (From Our Own Correspondent). The annual meeting of the assemblies were held on Friday, Mr Geo. Spratt presiding. The election of officers resulted as follows :—Chairman, Geo. Spratt; secretary, It. M. Cathie; committee, Messrs P. R. Palmer, Jas. Robertson. W. Andrews, C. Campbell, P Bremer. M. Bremer, M. Hockley, D R. Jackson, Alex Alexander, G. Morrison. G. Wills, D. McGregor, W. B. Robertson, B. W. Harvey, C. H. Southcomibe, Rickdale, F. Besley, F. R,. MeWilliam and J. Mitchell. It was decided to hold dances on the following dates: May 28, June 25, July 23. Iu the event of Patea not holding the assemblies there this season, the Waverlev asemblies are to extend a hearty invitation to Patea to join in with Waver'ey. A heartv vote of thanks was accorded the ladies for their splendid assistance in the past year.
