(From Our Own Correspondent) A CHRISTMAS APPEAL. ( There was a large attendance at the meeting of the Manaia Ladies’ Patriotic Society he’d on Monday, and it was decided to hold the annual Christmas appeal on Tuesday, December 1, for the invalid soldiers in hospitals, in order to provide funds for additional Christmas cheer. There wi'l be a street collection and a stall. The Manaia Ladies’ Patriotic Society is to be commended -on its splendid efforts. The cause should appeal to everyone to give generously, and thus to he’p men who were maimed through doing) the.ir duty for King and Empire.
