A Press Association message from Eke taho n a reports the death at Nirecha yesterday of Mr David Dell, aged 88. Deceased came to the colony with the Both Regiment and saw war service.in Waikato and Taranaki. He was with von Tempsky’s flying squadron. Later he was appointed bandmaster for the Wellington City and Wanganui No. 1 Rifle* Rands. He he’d a position at the G.P.O. Wellington for four years, and in 1869 entered business as a grain and produce merchant. After conducting a hotel business at Wainawn for two years he returned to Wellington and started as a general carrier. He founded a line of coaches f-o Island Bay. For the hist- 2o years he had been farming at Nirenhc. Defer sod was an ardent horticulturist, and had one of the best collections of flowering shrubs in the Dominion in his extensive garden. A London cable message reports the death of the Rev. Charles Henry Robinson, D.D.. hon. Canon of Ripon since 1897, and editorial secretary to the Society for the Propagation of the Gospel since 1902. He was born in Ivenysham in 1861. He was educated at Liverpool College, and later at Trinity College. Cambridge. He passed his degrees with brilliant success, and became a deacon in 1884, and gradually rose to the office of canon. He was well known fox' his church literature.
