.SYDNEY, Nov. 23. When the case of Tom Walsh and Jacob Johnson appealing against their deportation came before the High Count, Mr. Watt, counsel for the defendants, asked for a remand for a week to prepare his ease. This was granted.

TO PREVENT DEPORTATION CONFERENCE OF UNIONISTS. Received Nov. 24, 10.40 a.m. MELBOURNE, Nov. 24. The Trades Hall Council disputes committee and the conference of maritime and transport unions discussed the methods to be taken to prevent the deportation of Walsh and Johnson. It adjourned till Thursday without reaching a decision.
