A mill-worker in Bolton, England, has handed over to the secretary of the Bolton infirmary a packet of notes amounting to £IOOO, tlie only condition being that his name shall not be published. Eighteen months ago the donor gave £SOO in the same modest way to the same institution. This obedience to tho advice ‘ ‘Let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth ” is as unusual as it is delightful.
