The attention, of the public is drawn to the special service which will take place at St. John’s Presbyterian Church to-morrow evening. The choir, under the conductorship of Mr Clement Howe, assisted by local friends, will render selections from Handel’s “Messiah.” and Mr Evans’ address will be in keeping with the musical part of the service. Harvest thanksgiving services will be held at the Normanby Presbyterian Church to-morrow at 2 p.m. and 7.30 p.m. Good congregations are anticipated. As Mr Greenwood will be attending the Dominion conference of the Associated Churches of Christ at Easter, which is being held' in Christchurch this year, he will preach his Easter sermon here on Sunday night. His subject will be. “Three Indestructible Evidences of Christ’s Resurrection.’’ The Kaponga Methodist Church is holding harvest thanksgiving services on Sunday, April 5, at 11 and 7.30 p.m. The sale of produce will he held in the Town Hall on Monday evening, at 7.30. The Sunday evening’s service will he the farewell service of the Rev. C. H. Kendon, who leaves on Thursday next to take charge of the Waiuku circuit in the Auckland district. On Wednesday evening a. farewell social will be tendered hv officials and friends in> the Parish Hall, Kaponga, to the Rev. C. H. and Mrs Tvendon. The public are cordially invited to attend. Easter suits and suit cases are two leading lines at the Melbourne’s Annual Stocktaking Sale. Reductions on these gocids have been drastic, and wise buyers are taking full advantage of the offerings.
