Much interest has been aroused by the discovery 0 f apparently rich diamondiferous deposits in a valley of the Mooi river, near Potchefstroom, Iransvaal. Hundreds of prospectors are at work. One farm, which was only pioclaimed a fortnight ago, is now a tcnvnship with a thousand inhabitants. Farm homesteads and c-attle kraals are hemmed in by claims, on which digging is feverishly proceeding. Cafes gaiages, shops, and stores have alreadv sprung up and a rush is setting in. ‘
