Hugh Stewart, a. bank cashier at Chicago, was driving his wife home in a motor car at midnight, when he noticed another oar following. He speeded up and the pursuers did likewise. On reaching home his wife jumped out and Stewart drew his revolver and fired two shots. He killed the two people in the pursuing car. They proved to be policemen, who thought the Stewards’ ear carried kidnappers they were trying to catch. s
