At the Police Court Kenneth Augustus Humphrey, a fnarried man, pleaded guilty to six charges of theft,, mostly goods from cars parked in the towm and was sentenced to various terms ot imprisonment totalling six months. A unique accident occurred to a party of schoolboys visiting Gannets yestei'day. When passing along the sea beach under high, precipitous cliffs at Clifton a slip came down, the debris just catching a boy named Easam, fracturing both bones of the right leg. He was sent to hospital. The clifts always appear dangerous, hut this is the first time that an accident has- occurred. Thousands of people have passed under them visiting the famous Gannet rookery'; DEATH OF FOOTBALLER, ROTORUA, Sept. 1. On Saturday afternoon, in a football match between Waikite and Rotoiti, after the breaking up of a scrum a player named James Dalziell, aged 30, iriarried, with one child, was seen to have been seriously injured. His limbs were paralysed. He was taken to hospital, where the X-ray showed a dislocation of the spine. An operation was decided upon, revealing extensive injuries to the spinal cord. Dalziell died at 2 a.m. to-day.
