Ar c ™i" dass carriage of the Kemp--1 ma i ' which was en route to feydney, was the scene of an unusual occurrence recently. Frank Granger,' of Hurstville, who' was a passenger, had the narrowest escape from death that could be possible. While the mail was thundering onward between Sandgate and Waratah a bullet passed through the sasli of the window alongside which Granger was sitting, and after grazing his left cheek, passed through the open window on the other side.
Tbe luckiest man on earth was sitting on the left side of the carriage. At the very moment that the gun must; have been fired from the bush he had Ins attention drawn to the other side. This undoubtedly saved his life. .He received only a slight flesh wound on the face.
