FARMERS’ UNION.

OTAKEHO BRANCH. A meeting of the above branch was held in the Otakeho Hall on Saturday evening, Mr E. T. Burke presiding. ‘ Correspondence was received, from Mr W. M. Singleton, Director of Dairy Division, re addressing farmers on matters o£ importance, including semiofficial testing. It was proposed to accept his date, namely, September 1. Some discussion took place as to appointing a delegate to the executive aiid finally Mr B. Rushin was proposed.

As there was no other business, the chairman introduced Mr L. H. McAlpine, the Dominion Farmers’ Union organiser. Mr McAlpine spoke very forcibly on matters of vital importance to the farmers, find urged all to stick to the union.

At the conclusion of his address the chairman moved a very hearty vote of thanks to him for his very interestinc and able address. " °
