THE GOVERNMENT SUBSIDY. (BY TELEGRAPH —PREBS ASSOCIATION.) CHRISTCHURCH, Aug. 27. After having been definitely informed by the DiiTctor-General of the Health Department that the Government would pay a £1 for £1 subsidy on a donation of £4OOO given to .establish a department for radium treatment at the Christchurch hospital, the North Canterbury Board has now been informed that the subsidy will be only 10s to the £l. This means a complete breakdown in the- arrangements already made, and the Government is to be asked to reconsider its action.
